Yoga is for everybody and EVERY BODY. It doesn't have to be complicated. Connect your breath to movement and you are doing yoga. Smile as you pass by the frog and read on for more insight into the benefits of yoga.

What is yoga? It is joining the mind, body and spirit through physical movement, breathing, meditation (prayer), self-care, & ethical practices. Breathing and mindfulness are just as important as the physical.
You don't have to be flexible – that's why we do the yoga! Different bodies have different degrees of flexibility and in this case, one size does not fit all. For most of the complex yoga postures which require great flexibility to do, there are plenty of modifications that allow you to get the same benefits for those who are less flexible. In fact one of the original reasons I took up yoga because I was not flexible and wanted to improve this aspect of my physical dimension.
Yoga encourages you to discover what is really meant for you and what is not serving you by heightening your awareness to your surroundings- other people, environments, and situations. It will push you to physical and mindful limits and show you that you are much stronger inside and out than you ever imagined.
Doing yoga for as little as 10 minutes, 2-3 times a week can:
1. Reduce stress and anxiety
2. Boosts (▲) immunity: Increased oxygen to vital organs, stimulates the lymphatic system to flush toxins, tells nervous system to settle down and clear out foreign bodies through sneezing, strengthens lungs through breathwork
3. Improved posture, flexibility and balance
4. Enhanced body awareness and improved body image
5. Encourages self-care
6. Decreased back pain
7. Decrease (▼) cortisol production (▼ " Fight or Flight " | ▼ Chronic stress |
▼ Inflammation | ▲ Sleep | ▲ Brain function | ▼ Cholesterol | ▼ Blood pressure |
▼ Brain fog | ▼ Insomnia | ▼ Obesity | ▼ Disease)
8. Increase sense of purpose, self love, acceptance for self and others.
What are you waiting for? All you need is comfortable clothing, a mat, and a water bottle.
